The 2020 IMSSS Symposium explores the role of preaching in the processes of religious conversion, deconversion, and passages from one stage of life to another. It adopts a comparative approach considering conversion as an individual and a collective phenomenon from the perspectives of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
The Symposium will take place at the Dominican Casa de Espiritualidad y Ejercicios, located at the historic site of the Shrine of the Virgen del Camino in León, Spain. It will include a workshop on preaching and the Digital Humanities and a visit to León’s famed historical sites, including the Cathedral, the Jewish Quarter, and the Royal Collegiate of St. Isidoro of León.
